Aircall’s Beginning
The idea for Aircall was conceived at the eFounders studio in Paris in 2014. Realising that a telephone system is complex and costly to set up, the co-founders set themselves the challenge of revolutionising business telephony. Within just a few weeks, they built the first version of Aircall. As they recognised the potential of their idea, the four entrepreneurs began facing technical and operational challenges.
How do you deliver the best possible call quality from different environments and local providers? How do you develop a reliable and robust architecture in a constantly evolving space? After completing 500 Startups’ 2015 Batch in San Francisco, Olivier Pailhes, Jonathan Anguelov, Xavier Durand and Pierre-Baptiste Béchu then raised $2.75 million to bring their project to life. In five months, the team grew from five to fifteen people and turnover tripled. Aircall’s success story was only just beginning.
